The Picture Lounge is a successful photographic gallery concept founded by Wanaka based Graphic Designer and Professional Photographer Christopher Thompson.

The focus is predominantly on artistic Central Otago landscapes, though the collection is made all the more exciting for the unique photography that captures the broader essence of ‘the New Zealand experience’ and also features images from well beyond New Zealand’s borders.

The gallery currently represents the work of full time professional photographers; Craig Potton, Gilbert van Reenen, Mike Langford, Jackie Ranken, Paul Gummer, Richard Sidey, Camilla Rutherford (nee Stoddart), Jason Law and Christopher David Thompson.

Also onsite Christopher operates a graphic design business; hook. Established in 2000, this creative studio specialising in wine brand creation and marketing collateral. Due to Christopher’s dual talents as a photographer, he can offer services from vineyard photography through to label and packaging design and print advertising.

The gallery recommends and uses only the finest quality production methods. Fully framed works are available to New Zealand based customers. Take a closer look at The Picture Lounge online here or in Spencer House Mall in Wanaka.

We had a quick word with Christopher about working with our team, he said, “We have always appreciated Tony’s knowledge, advice and ability to consistently deliver a quality product that meets our particular needs and standards. As such, we have been able to rely the 45th Degree to supply quality framing for our gallery customers since day one and are always happy to recommend them”.

At The 45th Degree we enjoy working closely with The Picture Lounge, framing high end work with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship.
