The 45th Degree are bespoke framing specialists. You name it, we will try to frame it. From original artworks, mixed-media pieces, photographs, certificates, medals, cross-stitch, jewellery, sport memorabilia, or sentimental objects, our one-on-one consultation process ensures we find the best creative solution to protect, enhance and compliment your precious items.

With a wide variety of NZ made and International mouldings to choose from, all our frames are joined and finished by hand in our Wānaka based workshop. We have an extensive range of matboard colours, as well as glazing solutions for all budgets.

We also offer services such as re-glazing, blockmounts and canvas stretching or can source special touches such as engraved plaques, captions or printing.

We take the preservation of your items seriously and have a focus on conservation framing techniques. We work predominantly with archival grade materials and from your initial consultation, our team will advise conservation methods to best protect and preserve your artwork.

Atmospheric conditions such as light, temperature, humidity and materials can all damage your treasured objects and conservation framing is the best option to help mitigate future deterioration of your pieces.

If you have an already framed artwork showing signs of UV damage, acid-burn or foxing (rust/brown spots), bring it in for a consultation and we can look at re-framing using archival materials and conservation methods.

With a huge variety of moldings to choose from, we will work with you to create the mirror of your dreams. Whether you are looking for a bespoke feature piece, dress mirror for your home / business, or something little to help lighten up a dark corner, pop in and speak to one of the team about our Custom Mirrors.

We work with 5mm mirror glass which gives an optically pure reflection with little to no distortion.

All glass is cut on site, and we are currently unable to cater to round, oval or curved mirrors.

We offer Picture Hanging services to help you hang and install your framed art and objects. We can assist with hanging on a variety of wall types including, concrete, brick, timbers, GIB and Polyblock.

For a small fee, we can also deliver your large framing or maps within the Wanaka or Hawea area.

Our Picture Hanging rate is charged per hour + consumables + mileage for any travel. Contact us for more info.

With three Map varieties to choose from, we will work with you to create a custom wall-map to suit your living, retail or office space.

Printed locally before being mounted and framed on-site, our maps are designed to be easy care and weather the frequent touch and tracing of paths. Framing options are customisable to suit your tastes.

We are a working studio, and our gallery space is ever evolving. Our current exhibition showcases a mix of work by local / Aotearoa NZ illustrators, painters and sculptors.
